Since grandtheftdisco asked, here’s my experience so far with Matt and Dave’s Porcelain for the People Clay. It’s really, REALLY soft. At least that’s how it came to me from Matt and Dave’s. I’m used to working with a somewhat stiff B-Mix from Laguna and I probably use more water than some would like when centering. You really can’t add much water to this porcelain clay at all. It’s already so soft you can barely touch it. I had to work slowly, at low speed on the wheel, and apply a very light touch or my walls would quickly open up or become uneven. All the items pictured above were made with it and they are pretty small (some espresso cups and some little individual serving size baking crocks). I tried throwing something larger and quickly lost control of the clay. Pulling handles wasn’t too bad but I dried the clay out a bit by kneading it with my hands before I started. I’ve decided to let it sit on the shelf and stiffen up a bit before trying it again. I’m anxious now to see how what I’ve made fires and glazes. Fingers crossed.

I don’t know the recipe but thankfully it’s a commercially available glaze so there’s no need! You can get it from any Coyote distributor. I order from Big Ceramic Store a lot. Here is a link to their Coyote page.

Wellllllll, I didn’t see any Australian distributors on the Coyote website, and a cursory glance over some Australian ceramic supply sites didn’t turn up a result so I’m not sure, but it doesn’t look good. Depending upon your financial situation you could probably order from a US company who ships internationally. The one I linked above does, and I’m sure there are others.

Not recommended. But thank you! :D
And thanks to everyone else who took time to make a comment. I’ve got a few more pieces on the glaze shelf with this glaze and I’m excited to see how they turn out. I’ll post photos.
