My home studio of the last 3 years, and now entering it’s final month.

HAAAA! The caption.
Just sorted out where I’ll be living for the next couple of years and a little studio space as well. Can’t wait to get back to work!!!

Experimenting with my chicken noodle soup recipe. Added diced tomato, ginger, red pepper and lemon juice to brighten the flavor and its fantastic. Rice noodles instead of egg next time.
Each loaf is turning out a little better than the last. I’m getting the hang of this bread thing. Might try some whole wheat flour next time.
Washington Heights, Manhattan. $300/month

If this comes with a bathroom it’s perfect.
Instead of buying Photoshop or the entire Creative Suite in a box, you’ll now simply be able to use the same apps via a subscription!
Find more details at the link.
Boooooooooooooooooo. I can’t afford another $30 bill every damn month.
You don’t have to subscribe, you can still just use the standalone product. They’re not forcing you to pay out more unless you want to. You can even still buy the box copies.
But they’ll no longer be upgrading the stand alone product. CS6 will be it. It will seem like no time at all before files created with CS6 are no longer completely compatible with the subscription version of the software and vice versa because filters and tools differ, etc. I have to hand it to Adobe - it’s a great solution to software piracy - but it sucks for those of us who make our income with these products and need to use the newest versions of the software for compatibility reasons. Photoshop files are always Photoshop files, though filters and such may change, but InDesign files are much trickier and files made with software just two generations back don’t work very well with the current version.
“I beg young people to travel. If you don’t have a passport, get one. Take a summer, get a backpack and go to Delhi, go to Saigon, go to Bangkok, go to Kenya. Have your mind blown, eat interesting food, dig some interesting people, have an adventure, be careful. Come back and you’re going to see your country differently, you’re going to see your president differently, no matter who it is. Music, culture, food, water. Your showers will become shorter. You’re going to get a sense of what globalization looks like. It’s not what Tom Friedman writes about, I’m sorry. You’re going to see that global climate change is very real. And that for some people, their day consists of walking twelve miles for four buckets of water. And so there are lessons that you can’t get out of a book that are waiting for you at the other end of that flight. A lot of people — Americans and Europeans — come back and go, “Ohhhh.” And the lightbulb goes on.”
